Selena Hernandez, born in Mexico and raised in Chicago, is the oldest of two and comes from divorced parents. Selena focused on school and sports from childhood to adulthood. She believes that consistency, determination and discipline are the foundations for growth and happiness. 

Raised in south side Chicago, Selena enjoyed what the city had to offer. She later spent a significant portion of her life living in the vibrant neighborhood of Pilsen. Selena was immersed in a community bursting with creativity, art and a deep-rooted sense of community. Recently, Selena moved to Indiana and lives with her husband, two adorable English Bulldogs, and two wonderful bonus daughters.

For fun, Selena enjoys her weekly visits into the city for good eats and hanging out with friends. You can also find her reading books in her backyard during the summer and playing with her dogs.

Selena attended George Washington High School in the south side of Chicago. She went to Loyola University Chicago for undergrad and finished her studies at University of Illinois at Chicago where she received her Bachelors in Computer Science. 

Selena has dedicated 20 years of her career to working in state government.
